Your Route Descriptions will provide information on distances and terrain and you can choose each day which ride to take

The terrain is mainly flat to moderately hilly, but there are options for rides with climbs

Azay is located approximately 250 km southwest of Paris and 25 km from Tours.

There is a train station in Azay-le-Rideau but there are more frequent connections to Tours, from where a taxi can take you to Azay.

The trip between Paris and Tours takes less than two hours.

Azay le Rideau Short Escape Cycling 4 Days
Base yourself in a spectacular location in the “valley of the kings” Enjoy the peace of the countryside at Azay le Rideau, surely one of the most dazzling castles imaginable. Other dazzling châteaux await you, as you wind your way along the Loire River Valley.

Loire Valley : Chambord Short EscapeDay 1
Arrive at your accommodation. Your bikes are waiting for you. In Azay-le-Rideau, perhaps the most beautiful of all Loire Valley chateaux sits majestically on a tiny island in the middle of the Indre River. Cycle out to the former residence of Balzac, at Sache. Continue on to the village of Pont du Ruan and then back in Azay-le-Rideau, enjoy dinner in a recommended bistro. (30 km/18 mi)

Day 2
Today ride to Chateau de Villandry and its incomparable gardens, now a Unesco World Heritage Site. The Renaissance gardens include water features, flower and vegetable gardens that are as impressive as any in France. Ride along a dedicated cycling path that follows the Loire River, returning to Azay on quiet roads. (40 km/25 mi/ 60 km/35 mi)

Day 3Loire Valley : Chambord Short Escape
Ride west towards Chinon to explore the vineyards or to Crissay-sur-Manse, one of 'le plus beaux villages en France'. Have lunch here or in Saint-Epain, another beautiful village with lots to see and do. (40 km/25 mi/ 60km/35 mi)

There’s time for a morning stroll before heading off on your next adventure.
