The day rides vary from 16 to as much as 62 km (10 to 39 miles) depending on your level of accommodation and the routes you select.

Your Route Descriptions will provide you with information on distances and terrain and each day you can choose which ride to take. The terrain is mainly flat to moderately hilly, but there are options for rides with climbs

Beaune is located about 320 km southeast of Paris and can be easily reached from Paris via Dijon. It is also close to the international airports in Lyon and Geneva.

Connections from southern France, especially Provence, are very convenient.

Beaune Short Escape Cycling

 Sample the best of Burgundy from your base just outside of Beaune, a famous and pleasant town, situated in the heart of the Côte d’Or vineyards. Stroll through the charming medieval quarter, with its narrow cobblestone streets, welcoming squares, and buildings topped with gleaming roof tiles. Cycle along quiet country roads past world-famous vineyards and through charming old villages. Or hop a train to nearby Dijon, the capital of Burgundy.







Beaune Short Escape Cycling 4 DaysDay 1
Arrive in Beaune. Wander through the picturesque narrow streets of this pretty town with its magnificent old buildings, pausing perhaps to indulge in some wine-tasting. Your bicycle is waiting for you, so you can also enjoy an short south to Pommard and back. (10km)

 

Day 2
Explore the vineyards of the Côte d’Or South among wine villages with names familiar to wine lovers around the world. Head as far as Meursault or Puligny-Montrachet. (30 km and option of 19 km extra.)

Day 3Beaune Short Escape Cycling 4 Days
Head into the Côte d’Or North. Explore more wine villages as you bike to Aloxe-Corton, a famous wine town. Take it easy along a short, flat route (options from 25 km to 52 km).


Day 4
Enjoy an easy, mainly flat ride into the countryside east of Beaune, among wheat and canola fields through charming villages like Verdun-sur-les-Doubs, famous for its fish stew . Then depart for your next adventure. (30 km or 50 km)
